You step into your hotel room and look around. “Not bad”, you mutter to no one, “definitely worth the upgrade”. Then you see it. Smugly grinning at you, with its toothless, inbred smile.
A Nespresso machine.
This was my life when I was spending god knows how much time on the road as a young IT consultant, but thankfully since then, we’ve had a ton of travel options open up to us coffee nerds. From Aeropresses, to hand grinders to portable espresso machines. But no one has really nailed the fully portable pour over kit yet, as there’s always that awkward “boil your water in the Mr Coffee machine and spill most of it over the table” moment with a plastic v60.
Until now that is…. DUN DUN DUUUUUUUN!
What sorcery do you speak of, VCS?
Pakt recently got in touch with me to tell me about their full pour over travel kit which is currently on Kickstarter. It’s got everything you need in it to be able to create perfect pour overs on the road including:
A full electric kettle
A collapsable pour over cone (like a v60) (stored inside the kettle)
An insulated travel mug (stored inside the kettle)
A little coffee container (stored inside the mug)
A tiny barista (who lives in the coffee container)
Ok, there isn’t really a tiny barista, there’s a huge barista… you! Oh calm down, I’m not calling you fat, you’re looking amazing these days by the way.
I want one, where do I get one?
As you probably know by now, I don’t do sponsored posts, so despite this seeming like a bit of an Ad, it’s actually not, it’s a giveaway. I asked the impressively good looking folks at Pakt to donate one to you! All you need to do is enter your details below. You’ll be added to my mailing list as well as theirs. You can unsubscribe any time you want, no pressure. We’ll draw one winner and it’ll be posted out to you when their production run from the Kickstarter happens.
Stuff I know you’re going to say
Where’s the grinder?
Bring your own, there isn’t one. I’m actually OK with this – as grinders are pretty much a whole other company and set of challenges. Go over to U-Roast-It and buy a Porlex mini.
What if I don’t win? Where can I buy one?
They have a Kickstarter going on right here.
Gimmie more details on how the whole thing works
