Quantum Officially Opens Downtown Vancouver
Their doors have been open for a while now, but after a raucous opening party they can now say that their soft opening is over and they’ve officially open for business!
The whole place is managed by coffee nerd and Australian, Drew Powell and his co-manager Ariane Lapointe Auger (who gets an award for fanciest sounding name I’ve heard this year). Having spent some time chatting to Drew I can say that despite his obvious handicap bought on by his place of birth (Canadians don’t make this joke, I’m British, I’m allowed), he’s a really enthusiastic about what he can contribute to the local scene with plans for expansion of their coffee and food service soon.
He and Brainstation (the attached business) want Quantum to become a bit of a hub for coffee events, talks, demos and I’m sure many other events. Their kick off party was impressive, with the large event space at the back holding 100+ at my estimate (if you want to book it or the upper floors go here: www.455granville.com).
The shop itself has some very cool state of the art equipment such as Vancouver’s first Poursteady pour over station as well as offering catering services for the local area.
At the moment they’re serving up various types of coffee (including a weekly changing roaster on pour over) as well as a full selection of pastries, cookies and cakes.
Quantum is open 7am-7pm weekdays and 8am-7pm weekends.
455 Granville St, Vancouver, BC V6C 1T1.
