Modus Coffee Roasters to open bricks and mortar store in Mt Pleasant

We’ve been banging on about how great Modus Coffee Roasters are for ages (Golden Bean award winning coffee, insanely good quality roasts, capable at drinking beer etc), so we’re really happy to hear that they’ve found themselves a location to operate out of as a full coffee shop.

Here’s what Sharif and Jess, the owners, had to say about the plans:

After running Modus as just a coffee roaster for a little over a year, we’ve landed a really great space right in Mount Pleasant. We decided this is the better direction to go to have a place where we can experiment, push ourselves and also have as a full service coffee shop. It’ll be an inclusive space, the plan is to design it around what we’re about, making good coffee approachable.

You can expect all your fave go-to espresso based beverages, our whole coffee offering on drip always made to order, and also some sweet adds.

To nail our opening and get the word out we’ve also launched a local crowdfunder giving out limited gear, a 90+ coffee, plus some early bird coffee cards with bonuses.

We’re doing a lot of the reno’s ourselves and also lucky to have the massive amount of help from friends to make sure it’s done proper. Looking forward to serving real soon!

The location is near the big MEC on Broadway and Manitoba, so we’re going to have loads of ways to get there, plus plenty parking.

Right now they’re in startup mode and are running an Indiegogo campaign to trade your money for their wares – sponsorship will get you anything from a bag of coffee to a massive credit towards drinks when they open, as well as training sessions, cupping sessions and a sensual back massage from Sharif.
