10 Best Places to get Cold Brew Coffee in Vancouver 2017
Summer is here and for some it’s not the time of year for piping hot coffee, it’s more a time for its chillier brother. But we’re not talking about iced coffee, we’re talking about cold brew coffee. Time for the list of the 10 Best Places to get Cold Brew Coffee in Vancouver.
So what is this cold brew coffee stuff? Simply put, you grind the coffee beans, add cold water and let it sit for ages… usually over 12 hours. What this produces is a really delicious filter coffee, with no astringent or acidic tastes to it, but a smooth and sweet mouth feel. It’s as close as you’ll get to a latte under 10 calories!
Moving Coffee – Morning Whisky
Edmond, the owner, is a master of coffee… no seriously, he’s got a certificate and everything. He’s one of only 3500 certified Coffee Q Graders globally and it shows in his cold brew, called Morning Whisky. Smoother than silk, more balanced than a ballet dancer and more flavorful than any other cold brew I’ve tried.

Aubade

Aubade got our number 1 spot for coffee in our 2016 top ten coffee shops of Vancouver list. Their cold brew is actually cold drip coffee, which produces an even higher quality taste than regular old cold brew. Tell them I sent you and maybe, just maybe they’ll give you their pina colada tasting nutmilk infused cold brew masterpiece.

Summer is back and so is their cold brew! It’s always different because of their varied bean selection. Go into their Gastown cafe to see what they’re pouring this week and take away a 250ml bottle for home or a glass in the venue.

49th Parallel Coffee
Another great effort from 49th Parallel. Not as complex as their other coffees, but a solid all-rounder from them. Sold in bottles in their Main St and 4th Avenue locations, as well as various coffee shops around Vancouver. Stay tuned for their downtown location to open soon too!

Kahve

Kahve have recently started serving up nitrogen infused cold brew for Notch, which is incredibly exciting! Notch is one of our favorite bottled cold brew companies and Kahve is one of our favorite cafes, so expect to see us there a lot over the summer.

Timbertrain

Timbertrain does one of the best, if not the best nitro cold brew in Vancouver. Infused with nitrogen, you get a potent but smooth Guinness like (in looks) glass of cold coffee, served up by some of the nicest staff in the business. Buy it by the glass at their Gastown cafe.

Elysian
Both caffeinated and non caffeinated cold brew is served at all of their locations, but we’re singling out their roastery location at 2301 Ontario street and their downtown location on Burrard as the best. Why? Nitro cold brew of course! Buy it by the glass and try their mind meltingly good cookies whilst you’re at it!
Green Coast Coffee aka Cold Brew Bike

No roof for this guy – Kelly, aka Green Coast Coffee aka the Cold Brew Bike, is a one man show pouring nitro cold brew from a tricycle with a cart attached to it! If you want to know where he is on any given day then check his Twitter feed, as he’s always moving around! Stop by for a sample, buy it by the glass, bottle or growler. Whilst you’re there, be sure to try his maple syrup infused nutmilk concoctions!
Platform 7
Platform 7 is already one of my favorite places in Vancouver to drink coffee, but they get extra brownie points for serving up Stumptown nitro cold brew from their Kitsilano location. They also sell regular cold brew by the bottle and even a version with milk in a carton.

Nemesis Coffee
The team at Nemesis never back away from pushing the envelope when it comes to innovation, so it should be no surprise to find out that their cold brew game is a) Nitro and b) not normal! It varies from regular cold brew to hopped versions, all served up by their great staff in an amazing venue.
